I am Beyza
I travel through Anatolia several times a year to reconnect with my roots and discover traditional textiles from my homeland.
On my travels I collect old kilims and carpets, which I have cleaned and lovingly restored by my team in Antalya and Istanbul.
Liveable Art
Kilim weaving is the legacy of a nomadic tradition that goes back thousands of years. The symbols and patterns of kilim textiles have changed little over time because nomadic tribes have been able to remain largely unaffected by politics and art due to their remoteness and independence.
Traditional kilim are woven poetry. Each of these works of art is unique and was hand-woven by talented women many decades ago. From the patterns and symbols of their kilim, one can read their stories, feelings and desires, as from a poem.
