From March 13, Wild Heart Free Soul has the honor to be part of the Museumsshop Barberini as a representative of Anatolian craftsmanship. For the exhibition "Rembrandts Orient" the museum store of the Barberini has curated a special selection of "oriental" products. A fine selection of our vintage kilims and kilim pillows are available here until June 27, 2021.

Excerpt from the blog post from Museumsshop Barberini:

"Rembrandt's Orient - the view of the 17th century. "Orient" in Rembrandt's time could mean many things. Ceramics from Japan or China, miniatures from the Mughal Empire on the territory of today's India, or "Batavia" the name for the Dutch Indies, today's Indonesia with its capital Jakarta. But is our concept of "Orient" much more accurate? What cuisine do we mean when we speak of Oriental cuisine?

So we set out to find creative people from countries that are generally classified as "oriental" and entrepreneurs who wander between cultures. We found young founders like Beyza Özler from Berlin. With Wild Heart Free Soul she has specialized in kilims from the 40s to the 70s. In "normal" times, she travels through Turkey several times a year to select the most beautiful pieces, which are then carefully cleaned and restored. For Beyza Özler kilims are woven poetry and each piece tells its own story. Wild Heart Free Soul Guest at the Barberini Shop at the Museum Barberini, Potsdam, starting March 13."
