A rug like a woven memory
This hand-woven vintage kilim in blue and green comes from the Usak region in Western Anatolia – an area where women wove their stories into wool through colors and symbols. Created in the 1960s and made from 100% hand-spun sheep's wool, this large-format piece is a grounded expression of protection, love, and freedom.

Kilim Symbols & Their Meanings

Its pattern hides a language of signs – each a woven wish, each form a silent companion:

  • Küpe: Earring – a symbol of love, relationships, and emotional connection
  • Göz: Evil Eye – clear vision, perception, warding off evil
  • Kuş: Bird – freedom, lightness, spiritual connection
  • Elibelinde: Hands on the Hips – female power, fertility, creative energy
  • Sandık: Chest – inner riches, femininity, secrets
  • Bukağı: Fetter – bond, responsibility, family connection
  • Kurt Ağızı: Wolf's Mouth – protection, defensiveness, vigilance
Color World

A silent spectacle of colors with desert sand, moss green, graphite grey, and cinnamon brown. The geometric patterns are traversed by delicate abrash transitions, giving the kilim movement and depth. Plant-dyed wool provides a matte, natural radiance – soft and expressive at the same time.
