I am Beyza
I travel through Anatolia several times a year to connect with my roots and discover the traditional textiles of my homeland.
On my travels I collect old Kilims and carpets, which I have cleaned and lovingly restored in Antalya and Istanbul.
Liveable Art
The art of Kilim weaving is the legacy of a nomadic tradition that dates back thousands of years. The symbols and patterns of the Kilim textiles have hardly changed over time because nomadic tribes were able to remain largely uninfluenced by political and artistic events due to their isolation and independence.
Traditional Kilim are woven poetry. Each of these works of art is unique and was hand-woven by talented women many decades ago. From the patterns and symbols of their Kilim, you can read their stories, feelings and wishes, as from a poem.
