Underwater Love
Some colors seem to have originated off this earth.
Turquoise like shallow water. Deep blue like the sea just before nightfall. Coral in between, faded pink and bright traces – like light falling through the water's surface.
The hand-woven vintage kilims and cushions in this collection come from Uşak and Eşme in Western Anatolia. Their colors, patterns, and irregularities tell of the hands that once wove them, of their former lives, and of the time etched into their fibers.
Through a special washing process, their originally darker tones have been transformed. The colors became lighter and clearer without losing their depth. This created an unexpected color palette reminiscent of lagoons, coral reefs, and the mysterious expanse beneath the ocean's surface.
Underwater Love connects the woven world of Anatolia with the flowing world of water. A collection of ancient textiles that read like landscapes – vibrant, multifaceted, and never entirely uniform.
For spaces that don't just display color, but make it palpable.
