Through careful re-processing, this rare textile is given a new life as a cushion cover – ready to accompany another chapter.

This cushion cover was made in our Wild Heart Free Soul atelier in Istanbul from a historic peasant dress. The original textile is made of hand-woven cotton and was hand-embroidered. Age-related traces and natural irregularities are part of its character and make each piece unique.
The front is made of a historic Anatolian textile of hand-woven and hand-embroidered cotton. The back is made of high-quality linen and features a concealed zipper.
Each cushion cover is unique and may vary slightly in color, pattern, and embroidery.
This cushion cover was made from a historic Anatolian peasant dress, hand-woven and hand-embroidered many decades ago.
In the villages of Anatolia, women often made their own clothes. The cotton was processed on simple looms and then decorated with elaborate embroidery. Every pattern, every seam, and every shade of color bears witness to craftsmanship, patience, and a deep connection to the everyday life and traditions of their community.
Many of these textiles were part of a young woman's dowry and were kept, cared for, and passed down from generation to generation for years. They accompanied their owners through festivals, family celebrations, and daily life.
The embroidery is traditionally found on the back of the dress. An embroidered apron was originally worn on the front, which is why many of these garments are plain in the front.
Today, such handmade garments have become rare. Through careful repurposing, these historic textiles are given new life and preserve a piece of Anatolian cultural history for future generations.
Each cushion cover is unique. Small traces of time are part of its character and tell of a life that began long before us.
Please only shake out carefully or vacuum with low suction.
Stains should be treated immediately with a clean, slightly damp cloth. Please do not rub, but dab gently.
The front is made of a historic, hand-embroidered cotton textile. The back is made of high-quality linen. To preserve the beauty and longevity of both materials, we do not recommend machine washing.
If necessary, the cushion cover should be professionally cleaned.
Avoid direct, strong sunlight for prolonged periods to protect colors and embroidery.
