WEAVING EXPERIENCE: 40 years
INSPIRATION FOR THE WORK: Anatolian women have woven their emotions into carpets with symbols for centuries. In this design, I tried to reflect the suppressed feelings of Anatolian women and their cry for freedom.
WHAT DO KILIMS MEAN TO YOU? Kilims are used as decoration today. For me, however, they represent the prayer rug on which my grandfather prayed, the kilim my mother used when baking bread, and the bag into which my sister poured her emotions. They also symbolize the kilims that were used to wrap the deceased on their journey to the cemetery. In other words, kilims have accompanied us from birth to death.

A dedicated team of experts, including a fourth-generation master dyer and a production manager with extensive knowledge in weaving, ensures that each artwork meets the highest quality standards.
