This vintage kilim from Sivrihisar was woven around the 1960s from hand-spun sheep's wool. Large hooked diamonds alternate with smaller, serrated diamonds; rust red and brown form a warm base for ochre yellow, soft sage green, and pale lilac. The wide horizontal bands give the pattern a clear rhythm and make the kilim an expressive centerpiece for any living area.

I am fascinated by the delicate lilac between the warm red and brown tones here. The longer I look, the more small color variations I discover in the diamonds – they give the orderly pattern a lively quality.

Our vintage kilims come from various regions of Anatolia in Turkey. They were handcrafted on traditional looms and bear the personal signature of the people who wove them.
Weaving techniques, patterns, and color schemes differ depending on the region and the individual piece. Each textile combines inherited craftsmanship with individual design – a diversity from which we personally curate our collection.
Daily care
Vacuum regularly and carefully using a low suction setting without the rotating brush. Avoid the fringes. A suitable rug pad provides grip and protects the fabric. Protect from prolonged direct sunlight.
For stains
Blot up spilled liquids immediately with a clean, white cotton cloth. Do not rub or soak. Please consult us before attempting further stain treatment and avoid stain removers or household remedies.
Cleaning
Thorough cleaning should be carried out by a specialist familiar with hand-woven kilims. Do not machine wash or steam clean.
