A Woven Heirloom from Western Anatolia
This original vintage Kilim was handcrafted in the 1960s in Acipayam, Western Anatolia, by a nomadic weaver. Even before the first warp thread was stretched, her work began with the flock: shearing sheep, cleaning and combing the wool, and spinning it by hand into yarn – until the thread was strong enough for a life on the floor. She then painstakingly dyed the wool using natural colors. From the first shearing to the finished Kilim, a full year could pass.

This Kilim was not originally woven for sale, but for the family's own use. Nomads and farmers used their Kilims as floor coverings, as tent or wall hangings, as blankets, or as carrying bags. Each piece embodies everyday life, protection, and beauty – made to accompany one for a lifetime.
